This is far less futuristic than it sounds.

So, I updated to Snow Leopard and it seems there are new wallpapers in the Desktop & Screen Saver tab of System Preferences. One of these new wallpapers is entitled “Earth.” It’s exactly what it sounds like:

But then I noticed something weird. See it?

That section is definitely being cloned. For those of you who don’t know what cloning (digital imaging) means, check this page. Don’t get me wrong…. I generally don’t have a problem with cloning, although this kind of sloppy work makes me wonder if I should switch from music to photo editing as a profession. What bothers me about this is the immediate question that pops into my head: Why?

Why the crap would anyone need to clone a cloud pattern from a satellite photo of earth? Are they trying to hide something? What is it about that one little part that didn’t look quite right to the editor? Ugh…. Anyone?
